But even if shame is undeserved I felt the shame. Likely most who are obese feel similarly. I try now to look back and say that I did the best I could at the time and despite all my issues I managed to lose weight and become active. And I did it when I was in my late 50s, instead of giving up. I am proud of myself, but not too proud. I never know where I will be next week.
